You only succeed through action

If you envy others who are taking a boat trip to Hawaii, look wistfully at their Ferrari, wish you could send your son or daughter on a holiday overseas and would love to own a better home, you need to ask yourself what’s stopping you. The answer is probably money. Or rather, a lack of it.

The real reason is that you are not taking the correct actions to make money. Just remember that nothing happens without intelligent action. You have to make it happen by doing something.

Keep at it

You may know the phrase ‘Persistence overcomes resistance.’ Over time water can wear down even the hardest rock. Keep at it; keep going. It is the steady, constant driving to achieve your goal which will make you a success. Yes, you may have to contact 100 people or even 200 to convince 20 to attend a presentation meeting. It does not matter. Just keep at it, day in and day out. You might want to look  where it was indicated how your network can grow.

Business BlogRemember this: we overestimate what we can achieve in one year and underestimate what we can achieve in 10. If you want to retire wealthy in 10 years’ time, keep at it.

Perhaps you’ve heard this story. Winston Churchill, in his second term of office, gave one of the shortest and most effective speeches ever made, at a graduation ceremony Here is what he said in full. He rose to the podium, looked at the expectant students about to start out their careers and said just three words: ‘Never … give up.’

There was a stunned silence as the students waited. The great man looked around the room. Thirty seconds passed. Then he said again: ‘Never … give up.’

Again he paused and looked round the room. There was absolute silence. A minute passed. Then Churchill gave his final sentence: ‘Never … give up.’

Successful people don’t quit. People of character keep going in spite of set-backs, distractions, difficulties and unforeseen events.

Take Thomas Edison, who was mentioned earlier on. Reportedly, he failed 10 000 times in his attempt to invent an electric light. But he did not regard this as failure. Rather, he discovered what did not work. Thomas Edison was undoubtedly what one would call a genius, but what is genius: ‘The power to make continuous effort.’

Learn by doing

Abraham Lincoln, one of America’s most famous presidents, expressed it well it in one of his speeches when he said: ‘You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should be doing for themselves.’ This is the economic beauty of network marketing. You teach your distributors how to network, you encourage them to try, you motivate, you show and demonstrate and then, having done all this, you let them try for themselves.
